Credit Reporting – Best Practices and CDIA Standards
Current economic conditions require consumers and business owners to have the highest quality of credit to get the best rate offerings when applying for credit. Performance in paying debt and managing the type of debt is in the hands of the consumers and is ultimately their responsibility. However, how the data is collected and reported lies with the entities that house and collect the data. The spirit of the Fair Credit Reporting Act is to put policy into place that ensures financial data is collected and reported accurately and fairly, while protecting the privacy of that information. The Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA) is an international trade association that represents the consumer credit, mortgage reporting, employment, and tenant screening and collection service industries. The CDIA has published a guide to be used by consumer reporting agencies that standardized the way data is reported by all entities who wish to report credit data. This guide as well as regulatory requirements are the tools that we, FPS GOLD, use to make sure the data on the system is reported accurately and fairly. We regularly get the same questions from our clients, and there are best practices for reporting data. Join us to learn more about CDIA standards and Credit Reporting Best Practices.

Profitability and Managing Customer Information
Increasingly, community banks are looking to commercial lending as a primary source of income. The heart of commercial lending is managing the customer relationship and offering a range of products to fill the needs of the local industries and businesses in the bank’s lending territory. The product line is not only determined with the customer in mind; management also wants to ensure these products and the customers they’re drawing into the bank are profitable and that the relationship has a positive impact on the bottom line. Fast forward to servicing your business customer with an established relationship with the bank. How do we manage that relationship, and what tools do we have to know whether said borrower is profitable to the bank? Join us to learn more about how to use the CIS Profitability feature and learn some helpful tips for maintaining relationships in the system.
New Account Document Review
Compliance is a big part of opening a new account. This class will review the required documents and regulations tied to each disclosure. We’ll touch on the Regulation CC change required on July 1, 2025. We’ll include Beneficial Owner requirements, and hopefully by Directions Conference, further guidance will be available on the bank’s requirements. We’ll review Customer Due Diligence as part of your BSA policy.

Lunch & Closing General Session
Jenn Drummond as Directions Keynote Speaker
Jenn had it all: success as a financial services entrepreneur, mom of seven, and a fresh start in a new city. Then, in 2018, a car accident changed everything. Rescue workers told her she shouldn’t have survived…but she did.
That was the moment she realized that you don’t get to choose when you leave this life—but you can choose how you live it.
So she decided to live a more authentic and adventurous life. And in the midst of deciding what was next, her 8-year-old son dared her to climb Everest. So she did…and didn’t stop there.
Now, as a world record setting mountaineer, business owner, and mom of seven, she inspires millions of people to be resilient, lead yourself first, and set goals that push you to grow and do more than you ever thought possible.
